-Stuck Inside-. A COVID-19 Poem.

We’re stuck inside.

Inside our homes.

Inside our heads.

Inside our bodies.

It’s not as bad as it sounds.

I have a family to be with and warm clothes.

Luckily we also have food.

I’m so grateful.

I know what it’s like to be hungry.

I’m really glad I’m not now.

I’m really sad others are.

The rain keeps falling here in Dixieland.

She reminds me new life is just around the corner.

The tree outside my bedroom door just blossomed.

She has white petals and a scent that the honey bees are fond of.

The birds are singing.

I wish I could speak their language.

The worms are inching.

Sometimes I wish my world was that small.

We’ll be fine, I’m sure of it.

We have so many amazing hearts.

We have so many amazing souls.

We have so many amazing minds.

Yet still, we remain stuck inside.

We’ll be fine though, I’m sure of it.
